Exploration for gold has been carried out at the mouths of the Pra, Ankobra, Nyila, Butre, Amisa-Nakwa, and Ayensu Rivers. The greatest successes have thus far been near the mouths of the Ankobra and Pra Rivers, and these are two sites where Marine Mining will begin a pilot project for gold recovery later this year.
